Red carpet rolled out for Hunger Games premiere

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The red carpet rolled out in Knoxville Tuesday night for the premiere of "Hunger Games: Catching Fire".

Hundreds gathered at Regal Cinemas Pinnacle Stadium to catch a glimpse of actor Liam Hemsworth.

And some of those in attendance had the honor of being some of the first moviegoers to view the new film.

"I think they can expect som true emotion and intensity and a real true adaptation to the book. I think people are going to like it," director Francis Lawrence told Local 8 News.

The first Hunger Games movie made nearly $700 million worldwide last year.

Producers hope the second one will make even more.

But before they see a profit, studio officials and actors, hope to raise money for a good cause: Variety - the children's charity of eastern Tennessee.
