KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Dept. identified the Sevierville woman who died in a two-car crash on Sunday. According to their preliminary investigation. Leslie Whaley was killed in when her car was struck on the passenger side by Ford Mustang driven by Joshua Massa.
The 33 year-old was heading east on Wynn Ave. when her Nissan Altima was hit as it passed through the Cottrell Street intersection. Both cars went over a sidewalk and into a ditch. Whaley's car didn't stop until it hit a tree.
She was pronounced dead as soon as she arrived at the hospital. Police said she was not wearing a seat belt.
Massa, 39, and his passenger Michael Booker, 56, were taken to UT Medical Center with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. They both were wearing seat belts, police noted.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
