PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Spring breakers have arrived in the Great Smoky Mountains, but bring was hard to find on Monday.

Cold temperatures and snow could be seen throughout the area but families decided to make the best of it.

"We've got a little more sun, a little less snow," said Bobby Redlon from Florida. "The times are changing. Like winters more in the Summer and the Summer's more in the Winter. So We're a little off."

Redlon and his family were enjoying something they don't get to see at home. But the weather was a challenge for everyone.

Ober Gatlinburg was packed with business, but have already shut down ski operations for the season.

"It definitely doesn't look like it (Spring) today, it looks like mid January," said Jerry Huskey with Ober Gatlinburg. "Just ridding the tram alone would be beautiful today with the snow and everything the ice rink is still going and tubing."

Even snow couldn't shut down Dollywood, open with rides and new entertainment during the Festival of Nations. Folks found activities inside and out.

"We rode some rides down there yesterday and today we're just going to do a little more shopping and go back to the cabin and hang out by the fireplace," said Redlon.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park recorded accumulation of 2-3 inches in different areas of the park.
