Tennessee is changing the way it executes condemned prisoners.
On Friday the Dept. of Corrections announced it has abandoned the three-drug "cocktail" previously used during lethal injections. The new protocol will utilize a single drug, the sedative pentobarbital.
A spokesperson for the the corrections department said use of the lethal drug has been upheld in court challenges and is currently being used in other states.
