Two arrested in car burglaries

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn (WVLT) -- The Campbell County Sheriff's Department arrested two people wanted for breaking into nearly two dozen cars.

Investigators charged Anthony Winnie and Phillip McGhee each with 21 counts of burglary and 21 counts of theft or attempted theft. Deputies caught up with them after one deputy chased them during a traffic stop.

They say the two broke into 21 cars in Jacksboro neighborhoods in the county and city. Police think they were trading stolen items to get drug money.

The sheriff's department has been working with Jacksboro Police Detectives since last week's break ins.
