Titans' Bulluck Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

NASHVILLE (TitansOnline.com) - Linebacker Keith Bulluck has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week following his outstanding performance on Monday Night Football, the NFL announced today.

Bulluck tied a franchise record with a career-high three interceptions in Tennessee's 31-14 Monday night victory over the Saints.

"It's great. I've never had that honor, so it's one more thing I can add to my career," Bulluck said following Wednesday's practice. "I'm fortunate that I was able to go out there and play a great game. Our d-line played great getting Drew Brees rattled, getting him off the spot and forcing him into some erratic throws that I was able to get my hands on. It was a total team effort."

Bulluck posted his first interception in the second quarter, ending a Saints' drive at their 41-yard line. He registered his final two interceptions in the fourth quarter as the Titans took control of the game en route to their second victory of the season.

Bulluck is the first linebacker since Arizona’s Ronald McKinnon in 1998 to have three interceptions in a game. It also marked the first multi-interception game of Bulluck's career.

The eight-year veteran, who continued his team-best active streak of 83 consecutive games started, how has 14 interceptions in his career.
