Brown family attorney: Don't sue UT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- As quickly as the threat of a lawsuit against Derek Dooley and the Tennessee athletic department appeared, the threat has been silenced.

Knoxville lawyer Greg Isaacs, who is representing the Brown family, has advised the family not to sue.

Isaacs is quoted on “After reviewing the matter, we’ve decided not to initiate any legal action against the University of Tennessee, contrary to earlier reports”

“The family has no animosity toward the university. Bryce is a good kid. Bryce wants to make sure that everything is positive."

On Tuesday, Arthur Brown, Sr., Bryce's dad, told Knoxville radio station AM 990 that he planned to sue Dooley because the football coach wouldn't release the running back from his scholarship.

Brown is now at Kansas State, where, because of NCAA rules, he's having to sit out the 2010 season.
