ESPN: Cutcliffe to take job at Duke

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) UT Offensive Coordinator David Cutcliffe has agreed in principle to become the next head foot coach at Duke, according to Chris Low cites sources with knowledge of the situation as saying Cutcliffe will be introduced as the Blue Devils' coach at a news conference on Monday.'s Low says Cutcliffe is expected to remain with Tennessee through the Volunteers' bowl game.

Volunteer TV News has not been able to independently confirm this through the university or Cutcliffe. in Raleigh, North Carolina quotes Duke Athletic Director Joe Alleva as saying the university hopes to have an offer in place by Saturday and perhaps a coach by Sunday.

During a news conference at UT late this morning, Cutcliffe told Volunteer TV News that he had not yet been offered the job at Duke.

Duke has been searching for a new head football coach since they fired Ted Roof after a 1-11 record this year and a 6-45 mark in five seasons.

The university has released no official statement.

Volunteer TV Sports Director Rick Russo will be at UT's practice this afternoon hoping for a comment from Cutcliffe.
