Farragut Foils Archrival Bearden in Overtime

By  |

KNOXVILLE (WVLT) - For a moment, it looked like Bearden was poised to snap archrival Farragut's reign of dominance. The Bulldogs stormed out to a 10-0 lead, but the Admirals came back.

In a big way.

Andre Sterling led Farragut to 21 unanswered points, but Bearden wasn't done. Quarterback Dawson Halliday led the Bulldogs from their own 1-yard line into field goal range, where kicker Brandon Reagan hit a 31-yard field goal to send the game into overtime.

Both teams scored in the first overtime period, but Farragut struck first in the second session and held Bearden to ensure its eighth straight win over the Bulldogs.
