Bell disappoints Vols and picks Ohio State

ROSSVILLE, Ga. (WVLT-TV), With regards to recruiting, new Vols head coach Butch Jones and his staff hit the ground running since arriving on campus. One of their main targets was Ridgeland High School defensive back and 5-star recruit Vonn Bell, who was also considering Alabama and Ohio St.

The Vols felt like they had the inside track with Bell being a Tennessee native and having grown up a fan of the Big Orange. However on Signing Day those efforts fell just short with Bell opting to join Urban Meyer and the Buckeye's up in Columbus, Ohio.

Bell, who's listed at 6-foot and 190lbs. helped lead his high school team to the Georgia Class 4-A state championship this past season .

In making the decision, he talked about the opportunity to play for coach Meyer as a deciding factor.
