Brandon Brown leads at River Islands Classic

(Note: The Third Round of the River Islands Golf Club Classic was
suspended due to darkness. The third round will resume at 7:30 a.m. and the final round will follow at 9:30 a.m.)

KODAK, Tenn. ( -- Brandon Brown completed his second round on Saturday, and his 66 was good enough put him atop of the leaderboard of the NGA/Hooters Tour’s River Islands Golf Club Classic.

After rains suspended the second round on Friday, Brown, who shot a 64 in the opening round, returned to the course and reclaimed the top spot from Justin Yoder, who carded a second-round 67.

Brown, an Eastern Kentucky alumnus from Shelbyville, Ky., played his
final six holes 4-under par to move out front of the conclusion of the
second round. Both Yoder, of Warrensburg, Mo., and Brown were unable to complete their third rounds before play was suspended due to darkness on Saturday.

Tulsa alumnus Ryan Henry of Broken Arrow, Okla., put his name in the record books on Saturday. Henry finished his second round with a
course-record 64 to move from T36 to T2. Henry was still on the course when play was suspended.

Chris Wolfe, of Niceville, Fla., was able to complete his third round
and his 65 moved him into tie for fourth with Andrew Medley, of Athens
Ala. Medley shot a 66 in the third round.

University of Tennessee alum David Skinns, of Lincoln, England, was
still on the course when play was suspended and was tied for sixth with Pensacola, Fla., golfer Nick Rousey.

Former UT golfer Philip Pettitt Jr., of Murfreesboro, Tenn., completed
his third round with a 69 to move into a tie for eighth with Jeff Corr
(Longwood, Fla.) and Ryan Spears (Del City, Okla.). Former PGA Tour
member Chris Wilson was unable to complete his third round, but his
two-round total of 134 kept the Dublin, Ohio, golfer T8.

The third round of the River Island Golf Club Classic will restart at
7:30 a.m. The pairings for the final round will determined after the
conclusion of the third round. The final round of the event will begin
at approximately 9:30 a.m.

$28,000 going to the winner.
