Hopson won't play vs. Alabama

KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- Tennessee guard Scotty Hopson will miss Saturday's Alabama game after spraining his ankle in practice earlier this week, head coach Bruce Pearl said Friday.

Hopson suffered a lateral sprain in his left ankle during practice Tuesday. X-rays were negative.

Senior guard Josh Bone replaced Hopson in the lineup during Thursday's 69-56 win at Auburn.

Hopson leads the Vols in scoring with 16.5 points per game. He has only failed to score in double figures twice this season.
