Tennessee basketball unveils new jersey numbers for freshmen

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee basketball announced jersey assignments for its four new players on Tuesday.

Freshman guard Keon Johnson will wear No. 45, while Jaden Springer will wear No. 11, forward Corey Walker will wear No. 15 and transfer forward E.J. Anosike will wear No. 55.

The No. 55 Anosike jersey should look familiar to Tennessee fans - E.J.‘s sister Nicky wore the same number during her time with the Lady Vols.

Uros Plavsic announced on Twitter that he would switch back to his old jersey number, 33. Zach Kent wore the same number before leaving the team this season.

Other new additions to the roster include three walk-ons. Guard Kent Gilbert from Greenville, North Carolina. Gilbert is the son of East Carolina athletic director Jon Gilbert.

Cole Morris is listed as a 6′9″ forward from Marietta, Ga, whose grandfather, Marty Morris, was an assistant coach on Ray Mears’ Tennessee basketball staff from 1971-74.

Former CAK standout Isaiah Sulak has joined the team after taking a medical redshirt at Bossier Parish Community College this past season.
