White Sox sign No. 11 overall pick Crochet
The former Vol pitcher signed his Minor League contract Monday
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Garrett Crochet made it official Monday. The former Vol pitcher signed his Minor League contract, making him a member of the White Sox organization.
Crochet was the team’s top overall draft pick in this month’s draft.
The lefty was taken 11th overall and received a $4,547,500 signing bonus for the slot value in the draft. Crochet told MLB.com he’d be in Chicago for a physical and MRI last week.
“I’m thrilled to officially be a member of the White Sox organization,” Crochet said in the White Sox press release to announce the signing. “It has always been my dream to play at the highest level, and now I’m one step closer to achieving that dream.”
