KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Officials with the Knoxville Police Department said a man was arrested following a shooting and chase Monday morning.

Police said around 5 a.m., officials received reports of shots fired outside the Morningside Gardens Apartments on McCalla Avenue. The witness told officials he heard gunshots outside his window then saw a white vehicle leave the parking lot at a high speed. According to KPD, the witness then got into his vehicle, called 911 and pursued the vehicle.

KPD officers responded to the area of I-40 West near Papermill Drive after learning the witness was following the shooting suspect, Treavor Warren, 47. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Warren reportedly refused to stop and continued to flee west on I-40 before exiting at Cedar Bluff.

The chase continued until police said Warren voluntarily stopped at the Weigel’s located at 328 N. Cedar Bluff Road.

Police call a K-9 unit to the scene, who discovered numerous narcotics inside Warren’s vehicle. Investigators said Warren had a revoked license from a DUI in 2017. Warren was taken into custody by KPD and charged with schedule II, IV and VI drug violations, evading arrest and driving on a revoked license.

According to KPD, no gunshot victims were located at McCalla Avenue.
