Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office issues warning about scam calls
Anyone who receives a call of this nature is advised to hang up and contact the police.

HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Officials with the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office are warning residents of a recent scam.
According to HCSO, multiple people have reported receiving calls from someone pretending to be a deputy. The caller reportedly threatens to arrest them in order to get social security numbers or money.
Officials said no law enforcement will ever ask for money or personal information over the phone.
Anyone who receives a call of this nature is advised to hang up and contact the police.
