Two hospitalized following crash at West Knoxville Cracker Barrel

One of the individuals in the camper was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for a minor laceration.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Officials with the Knoxville Police Department said two people were hospitalized after a crash Wednesday morning at a West Knoxville Cracker Barrel.

According to KPD, a pickup truck crashed into a camper that was parked in the restaurant’s parking lot located at 9214 Park West Boulevard around 6:40 a.m.

Police said the driver of the pickup truck reportedly experienced a medical event while he was in his truck with his foot on the gas and crashed.

As a result of the crash, the camper caught fire. Two people inside the camper were able to escape, police said.

One of the individuals in the camper was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for a minor laceration.

Officers said the driver of the pickup truck was able to escape and was taken to UT Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
