KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Colder air is on the way. That leaves us with a mild Saturday, then scattered showers move in and change to spots of snow in the higher elevations before leaving us all with a chilly temperatures again.

WHAT TO EXPECT

It’s a nice, mild day today. We’re warming to around 58 degrees in the Valley and low 50s in the higher elevations. It’s a mostly cloudy day, but more partly cloudy at times, especially in the afternoon to early evening.

Cooler air moves in tomorrow, so get out and enjoy!

LOOKING AHEAD

Flurries to spotty snow showers Sunday morning.

Scattered showers move in again Saturday evening through Sunday morning. We’ll have scattered rain showers by Sunday morning, with temperatures dipping down into the upper 30s in the Valley. Temperatures are closer to the low to mid 30s on the Plateau to the Tennessee, Kentucky line and the Smoky Mountains, so a few flurries to snow showers are possible Sunday morning.

Sunday afternoon stays locked in the clouds, keeping highs chilly in the mid 40s. The wind makes it feel even colder.

Next week comes with a few quieter weather days. We have highs around 50, and clouds are in and out. The most action comes with clouds Monday night dropping spotty rain showers, but that changes to spotty snow in the mountains.

The next rain event is actually Thursday to Friday. With colder air in the higher elevations, it’s another chance for sleet and snow to develop.
