Greeneville advances at state tournament
Cosby falls in Class-A quarterfinals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Greeneville Greene Devils connected on 7 three pointers and shot 45% from the field in hard fought 61-58 win over Boliver. Greeneville led 35-24 at the half and maintained a double-digit lead in the second half thanks to the shooting of Jakobi Gillespie who scored 28 points. Boliver, however, would rally and make it interesting, but the Greene Devils hang on and advance to the Class-AA Semifinals. Now 29-6 Greeneville plays 27-5 Upperman at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
PICKETT CO. 63 COSBY 56
In one of the Class-A quarterfinals it was falling to Pickett County. The Eagles dominated in the paint and got 12 points off the bench. The Bobcats, however, were stronger on the boards and went to the free throw line 20 times compared to Cosby’s six and made 14 of them. That was the difference in the game as Pickett Co. wins it 63-56 grounding the Eagles at this years Tournament.
