KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It took overtime, but the Kingston High School Yellow Jackets picked up a big win on Thursday in their first State Basketball Tournament appearance in 30 years.

The Yellow Jackets defeated Community High School 75-64 in the Class-AA quarterfinals at MTSU in Murfreesboro.

Kingston scored the first eight points of the extra period and beat the Vikings. The Jackets scored the first eight points of overtime as Wyatt Heidle scored off a rebound and Nathan McNelley stole the inbound and scored off a layup.

Kingston would not look back from there on their way to the 11 point win. Third-generation Yellow Jackets standout Colby Raymer led the team in scoring with 21 points.

Kingston will next face Jackson South Side in the Class-AA Semifinals on Friday at 5 p.m. Eastern.
