KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The University of Tennessee announced it will host a public COVID-19 vaccination clinic Friday, April 9.

As of Wednesday afternoon, all 1,200 appointments for the clinic have been booked.

The clinic will be held Friday, April 9, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Pilot Company Ballroom on the second floor of the Student Union located at 1502 Cumberland Avenue.

Recipients will receive the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. Because it is a single-dose vaccine, only one appointment is required.

Since the clinic is only offering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, individuals must be 18 years or older to register. The clinic will be by appointment only.

While all appointment spots have been filled, UT has a waitlist individuals can sign up for. People on the waitlist will be called at the end of the day, only if open vial doses are available at the clinic. You must be on-site in 30 minutes if called.

The online signup page will include a required consent form. Participants are asked to complete the consent form in advance of their appointment.

Parking for the event is free at the Volunteer Hall Parking Garage, 1525 White Avenue. Attendees will be required to show the vaccination card they receive at the clinic to validate their parking when leaving the garage.
