KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It’s been a busy offseason so far for Tennessee basketball with players entering the transfer portal, a transfer in Justin Powell of Auburn coming in and two assistant coaches leaving.

Kim English left the UT staff to become the head basketball coach at George Mason University and then on Monday, it was Desmond Oliver being introduced as head coach at nearby ETSU, a good move for him and the school says Kingsport native John Fulkerson, “For him to get this job. I think it means a lot to us to him to his family to this program that, that all the hard work that he’s put in is finally paying off and he can live out his dreams as as a college head coach, but he’s a very well rounded coach, he’s a great coach I know who’s going to make a great head coach at ETSU.”

Barnes has waisted no time in replacing at least one of his assistant naming Austin Peay State’s Rod Clark to his staff. Among the players Clark has already helped to develop are current NBA standouts Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers) and Shaq Harrison (Utah Jazz) as well as Gonzaga All-American Drew Timme.

Thought is would be a good time to bring in UT beat writer Rob Lewis of our media partner to talk Tennessee coaching staff changes, the college basketball transfer portal and the future of standout Keon Johnson:
