KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The new work week starts off with beautiful sunshine, but a few showers could dampen your plans by midweek.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the sunshine this Sunday. Highs have jumped into the upper 60s and lower 70s behind a southwest breeze around 10 to 15 mph. As we transition into the evening hours, the winds will gradually relax as temperatures slide through the 60s and 50s.

Overnight through Monday morning, look for fair skies, calm winds and lows near 50 degrees.

The first part of the new work week looks fairly warm! Just like this past Friday, highs will make a run at 80 degrees on Monday.

By Tuesday, we’ll start adding a few more clouds and just a spotty shower chance. Highs will still be warm in the low to mid 70s.

As the weak cold front sweeps the area late Tuesday, that brings scattered showers to most of your Wednesday. That will nudge highs down into the upper 60s for the day.

The rest of the week is shaping up to be fairly quiet. We’ll enjoy sunshine and slightly cooler highs in the mid to upper 60s all the way through Friday.

The next decent opportunity for rain arrives for the second half of the next weekend.
