Gov. Bill Lee asks the state to ‘pray for families and victims’ following Austin-East shooting
Lee asked for everyone to “pray for the situation and for the families and victims who might be affected.”
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knoxville Police confirmed multiple people were shot, including a police officer Monday afternoon at Austin-East High School.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee addressed the situation during a live press conference discussing the state’s education plan. Gov. Lee informed the public he is being updated on the situation by law enforcement as the investigation unfolds.
Lee asked for everyone to “pray for the situation and for the families and victims who might be affected.”
“A tragic situation unfolded at Austin-East Magnet High School today. We mourn the loss of life and commend law enforcement for their rapid response. We offer our full support to @TBI as they investigate this situation further,” said Gov. Lee.
