‘I am heartbroken’ Senator Marsha Blackburn speaks out following Austin-East shooting
Senator Marsha Blackburn is speaking out following a fatal shooting at Austin-East High School Monday afternoon.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Senator Marsha Blackburn is speaking out following a fatal shooting at Austin-East High School Monday afternoon.
Knoxville police confirmed one male victim was killed in the shooting. A KPD officer was also shot. According to officials, the officer is in stable condition and awaiting surgery.
Senator Blackburn released the following statement:
“I am heartbroken to hear about the shooting at Austin-East Magnet High School in Knoxville. My office has been briefed on the situation and I am praying for the community, including the officer injured in the line of duty.”
