KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - After a sun-filled Sunday and Monday, light and widely scattered rain showers are here the next couple days. Allergy sufferers, beware: this is not going to wash away much pollen!

We’re cooler and windy Thursday, with a few more raindrops to wrap up the next weekend.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’re only dropping to a seasonal 50° in Knoxville Tuesday. Sporadic showers snake their way in Tuesday afternoon. It’s kind of an odd setup, with that ‘wavy’ look to the rain, which is centered on Interstate 40. The ‘belt’ or middle part of our weather map has the best shot at rain, but it’s really light. Most spots that do record rain Tuesday will have under a tenth-of-an-inch.

The rain threat is slightly higher Wednesday afternoon, as a cold front rolls in from the west. Wednesday itself is pretty warm. Don’t expect a washout nor enough rain to relieve your sinuses.

LOOKING AHEAD

Thursday clears out in a hurry. While we are only in the lower 60s – one of several below average days at the end of the extended forecast – it will be sunny and quite breezy.

Friday morning will be pretty chilly, in the 30s for many! It’s back to the jacket in the morning for a couple of days.

There are lots of clouds – for now – this upcoming weekend. Right now the better chance of rain is late Sunday.
