KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee State has hired former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George as its new head football football coach.

Athletic Director and national champion VFL Mikki Allen says George has been a winner in every facet of the game and they look forward to having that translate to winning on and off the field.

A four-time Pro Bowl running back with the Tennessee Titans and the 1995 Heisman Trophy winner, George hasn’t coached before, but says he’s ready to tackle that learning curve.

George is reportedly bringing some star power with him to the Music City. The name Hugh Jackson has been thrown around as offensive coordinator, former Titans coach Jeff Fisher is rumored to become senior assistant to the head coach and even Hall of Famer Rod Woodson is reportedly going to coach defensive backs for the new top Tiger.
