UT football lands defensive standout from Florida

Edge rusher Venson Sneed commits to Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Head coach Josh Heupel landed his second commitment in as many days in the form of Florida Edge Rusher Venson Sneed. Sneed has been a key target for Tennessee since coach Heupel took over the program. The young man plays at and has been a standout for Winter Park High School in Florida.

A high effort guy, Venson is 6′5″ and has long arms. Those who’ve seen him play say the motor for a guy his size is very unusual.

Heupel’s first commitment for the 2022 class is Elijah Herring. He’s a 6-foot-2, 225-pound outside linebacker from Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Herring, who was offered by Tennessee by Tennessee last June by the previous staff, also had offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.
