East Tennessee full of fishing destinations
Fishing spots stretch from the plateau to Johnson City
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - After an East Tennessee man hit the jackpot of sturgeons over the weekend, the eyes of the fishing world may have shifted to East Tennessee.
”Between the three rivers, any given day of the week, I can put you on some serious fish, on any of them,” said Jason Jeffery the Owner of Knoxville Fishing Guide.
Jeffery is a licensed captain, leading fishing expos from just west of Bristol, all the way to Clinton.
”No telling what else will bite, we’ve caught walleye in the past week sauger we had some striped bass, white bass, crappie, pretty much any fish you can think of is biting right now,” said Jeffery with a smile.
The guide had just come off the river for the day after hitting the water at 8:00 a.m.
”It’s fun,” said Jeffery.
Part of Jeffery’s enjoyment doesn’t only come from the fish. It comes from the number of other wildlife he might see out on the river from birds to eagles, to animals on the bank.
While plenty of restocking has gone on over the years across East Tennessee, hitting it big in these waters could just be one cast away.
”Go fishing,” added Jeffery.
