Five people displaced after firefighters extinguish North Knoxville home

The American Red Cross will assist the five tenants after firefighters extinguished a North Knoxville home Sunday.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -Five people have been displaced after the Knoxville Fire Department extinguished a house fire Sunday.

According to the Knoxville Fire Department, officers responded to the 200 block of Oglewood Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, firefighters reported flames coming from the home. Crews extinguished the flamed and had the fire under control within the first 30 minutes.

Officials said the tenants of the home included three adults and two teenage children are all safe.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.

KFD said, The American Red Cross will assist the family until more permanent quarters can be found.
