KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -Do you have a furry friend who wants to play with other dogs?

Maryville-Alcoa-Blount County Parks and Recreation Commission is sponsoring the second annual ‘Paws in the Park’ event on Saturday, May 1 with a rain date of May 2.

According to a release, the event will take place at the Pet Safe Pistol Creek Dog Park from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. between Midland Plaza and the Blount County Health Department.

Dog owners with friendly dogs or those that love dogs, in general, are all welcome to attend.

The recreation commission says dogs must be up to date on their shots and must be on leashes at all times except when inside the fenced dog park area.

Activities will include playing in the park, vendors, grooming services, a thankful blessing of the dogs at 11 a.m. with free dog treats, a K9 demonstration at 11:30 a.m., a “Dog Talent Showcase” at 12:15 p.m., and a “Dog in Costume Showcase” at 1 p.m.
