Man charged with murder after woman’s body found in Tennessee creek

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Tennessee man who was charged with abuse of a corpse will now face murder charges.

Officials with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office said Gregory Moore reportedly took Maegan Gammill to his grandmothers’ home and gave her what he thought was meth.

Moore told investigators he later found Gammill unresponsive in his old room and decided to dump her body.

Officials found Gammill’s body a week later in a creek. Gammill had been wrapped in a blanket and sheet.

Moore was initially charged with abuse of a corpse. Murder charges were added when investigators discovered Gammill had been shot.

Deputies said they located a gun in the glove box of Moore’s vehicle. According to reports, Moore told investigators he bought the gun and drugs shortly before meeting Gammill.

Moore is now charged with first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a gun.
