KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -District Attorney General Charme Allen announced Wednesday that no officers involved in the shooting that killed Austin-East High School student Anthony Thompson Jr. will be charged.

Shortly after that announcement, a group of about 50 peaceful protestors gathered outside of the Knoxville Police Department headquarters to express their displeasure over the decision by the DA.

Protest organizer Denzel Grant says they weren’t surprised as to what happened, saying that he already believed Thompson Jr. never shot anybody.

Grant hopes that protests will change Allen’s mind and charge officers who were involved.
