KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tony Vitello’s baseball Vols are up two spots to #4 in this week’s D1 college baseball rankings. Tennessee, which was 6th in last week’s poll, remains 7th in the latest Baseball America rankings. The Vols improve to 32-9 after taking two of three at Texas A&M this past weekend.

Tennessee exploded for 20 runs on 21 hits to pull away late and take the rubber game against Texas A&M, 20-7, on Sunday afternoon at Blue Bell Park in Bryan-College Station, Texas.

The Vols’ 20 runs were their most in an SEC game since defeating Georgia 25-5 on May 8, 2010. The Big Orange scored 15 runs over the final three innings after trailing 6-5 entering the seventh inning.

The Vols host in-state opponent Lipscomb Tuesday night at 6:30 pm. before returning to SEC play with a weekend series at home against border rival Kentucky beginning on Friday night.
