Fighting Irish name new head football coach
KCHS hires Korey Mobbs out of Atlanta
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish have a new head coach. It was KCHS introducing Korey Mobbs Wednesday as their new guy.
Mobbs, who hails from Chattanooga and is a big UT fan, he says, brings 16 years of coaching experience with him, most recently from Atlanta where he coached a successful Linear High program.
The coach says he’s looking forward to high school football in East Tennessee, “Yeah, so really good ball. I know we play in a tremendous league and every Friday night, it is going to be a tough ballgame. Some great teams in this league and so we’re excited about that competition.”
Mobbs replaces Steve Matthews who recently resigned from the position. Welcome to town, Coach Mobbs.
