KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Representatives from Rick McGill’s Airport Toyota reached a new milestone when they presented a $10,000 donation to the University of Tennessee Medical Center Cancer Institute on Friday, officials said.

Rick McGill’s Toyota has now donated a total of $50,000 over five years, according to representatives. This donation will benefit the Breast Health Outreach Program, which is aimed at providing screenings and education to women in East Tennessee.

“The passion and enthusiasm of the entire McGill team has been evident from the beginning,” said Dr. John L. Bell, director of the Cancer Institute. “We know these services improve the quality of and save the lives of women throughout our region.”

The program is grant-funded and provides essential services to 21 East Tennessee counties. They provide screenings and education to local businesses, churches and other community locations.

“We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, so we are honored to make a contribution towards fighting cancer in East Tennessee with the help of Toyota USA and our customers,” said Sales Manager Peter Renzulli.

The donation was presented at the dealership and UT Medical Center’s Mobile Mammography Unit was present to provide mammograms.
