KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Two people were shot Sunday evening after a street fight broke out in North Knoxville.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers responded to a reported shooting with multiple victims around 5:30 p.m. at 323 E Morelia Avenue.

At some point during that physical altercation, a male suspect produced a handgun and shots were fired. The male suspect and a male victim were struck at least one time. The suspect fled the scene on foot before collapsing a short distance away in an alleyway,” KPD said in a release.

Both the suspect and victim were transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with serious injuries. Their injuries are “not believed to be life-threatening at this time,” the release read.

All suspects in the shooting incident have been accounted for, KPD said.
