Big South Fork Medical Center employees not going to work as late paychecks continue
An emergency nurse along with six other employees are not returning to work as late paychecks continue at Big South Fork Medical Center.
ONEIDA Tenn. (WVLT) - Money problems continue to plague employees at an Oneida hospital and now some employees say they will not return to work until they are paid.
This is not the first time employees accused the Big South Fork Medical Center of not paying on time. In January 2020, employees told WVLT News, the hospital was behind on two paychecks. Now in May 2021, an employee says it has happened once again.
An emergency room nurse who wishes to remain anonymous says she along with six others have not been at work since Friday April 30th.
The nurse says she sent a letter to the company behind Big South Fork Medical Center, Florida-based Rennova Health, saying in part, “Tomorrow is our next payday and if not paid in full, Rennova Health will be losing a lot of prioritized employees which may lead to a diversion or worse- permanent shut down. So Rennova, it is on you on how this will play out.”
Friday, May 7 will be the third paycheck the hospital is behind on.
WVLT News has reached out to Rennova Health for a comment.
