Police are investigating a deadly East Knoxville shooting Monday evening.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knoxville Police said one person is dead after a shooting in East Knoxville Monday night.

According to KPD, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 10:30 p.m. at a home in the 400 block of S. Hembree Street.

When officers arrived they found a man outside the home suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Police said the victim identified as 46-year-old Eric Bolden was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

KPD officials say, Bolden was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Knox County for second-degree murder in the shooting death of Lemuel Appling in Oct. 2020.

The Knoxville Police Violent Crimes Unit investigators responded to the scene to begin the investigation. There are no suspects in custody at this time.
