Knoxville leaders announce launch of crime stoppers initiative

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers Program announced the launch of a new crime-fighting initiative on Wednesday.

Knoxville officials created a program to help Knoxvillians become involved in the safety and security of the city while remaining anonymous.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year callers can reach out to East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers to share information about criminal activity or the location of a wanted fugitive.

All callers will remain anonymous. Officials said if the information given leads to an arrest, the recovery of weapons, narcotics, stolen property, or the capture of a wanted person, those callers may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
