KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A block is setting up this week in our weather, keep rain chances limited to pop-ups and cranking the heat up!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Clouds are really building and sticking around for a couple of days. We have a mostly cloudy day, with isolated rain and storms trying to pop-up. There’s a 20% coverage of our area, mainly in the afternoon, for the rain and storms to develop.

A blanket of clouds will remain overnight, but only a some sprinkles are really possible. Tuesday morning starts out in the upper 50s.

LOOKING AHEAD

Monitoring spotty rain, storm chances Tuesday.

Tuesday starts out with spotty sprinkles and a couple of thunderstorms can easily develop. Really this is the best chance for rain, but the coverage is 20% through the afternoon to early evening. This is the day that I think a couple of downpours to storms can develop though, with a cloudy day. We’ll top out around 82 degrees still, with a light breeze.

The heat continues to climb this week, as the humidity takes a dip and takes out rain chances and clouds for a few days.

Wednesday can see a stray afternoon pop-up, and we’ll top out around 84 degrees, with a partly cloudy view.

The week ends with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and mostly sunny.

Pool weather this weekend? We’ll be in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees, with only stray rain chances.
