KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -The Make-A-Wish East Tennessee Foundation granting another wish, and bringing joy to a Maryville family.

In the summer of 2019, Eleven-year-old Reese Brown was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma on the right side of her face.

Reese’s parents, Blake and Rebecca Brown watched her fight through her battle and into remission.

" At first it was a really dark place but after time went on, you could physically see it shrinking and that make us hopeful everyday,” says Rebecca Brown.

While in the hospital, Reese had wished for an Aussiedoodle puppy with grey and white fur and blue eyes, and that’s exactly what she got.

Reese says seeing animals in the hospital helped her through her journey with cancer, and she hopes her new puppy Blue will do the same for others.

“If he’s the right demeanor and stuff, we’ll make him a therapy dog and visit people like with my story at the hospital and make them feel a little bit better because when I was in the hospital seeing any dog or animal made me feel good,” says Reese.

Petland helped Make-A-Wish East Tennessee pull off the wish by donating treats and toys for Blue.

Reese says she’s looking forward to playing with the Blue, and taking him on walks and hikes.
