KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - You’ve heard of couch surfing, but how about house surfing? A man was spotted riding atop a house as it was pulled via truck down Emory Road Monday afternoon.

The husband of WVLT News Anchor Amanda Hara captured the video on Monday. WVLT News reached out to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, but a spokesperson said they were not aware of the operation. Two Knox County Sheriff’s Office cruisers can be seen leading the wide-load envoy.

TDOT told WVLT News it’s not common to see someone on top of a house when moving a home. Spokesperson Mark Nagi said TDOT deals with permitting and routing such moves.

WVLT News viewer Amanda Stokes spotted the house passing under the I-75 overpass and shared a video of the low-clearance operation.

Nagi said he had no information about the house getting stuck. A Knoxville Police Department spokesperson said KPD did not have a crash report either.
