Remembering Hardin Valley teen killed in wreck days before graduation
“Our lives will never be the same.”
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Hardin Valley community is mourning the loss of a teen who was killed in a wreck just days before she was set to graduate with the class of 2021. Madison “Madi” Percell’s obituary describes a kind-hearted and free-spirited 18-year-old who never wanted to see anyone sad. Percell died in the May 22 pickup truck accident in Claxton that investigators think involved several young people, mostly from Knox County.
Hardin Valley Academy tells WVLT News it is working with loved ones to memorialize Madi in some way during the June 2 graduation ceremony. Her cousin, Amanda Rutter, described her like this, “She was loud, had a contagious laugh, a smile that would light up the room. She was one of us girls, our lives will never be the same.”
Click Funeral Home is hosting a visitation time Friday, May 28 starting at 11:00 am and a celebration of life service at 1:00 pm. Friends and loved ones are invited to share photos and keepsakes at a memory table.
