UT football kicks off big recruiting month
College football dead period lifted through June 27th
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Head coach Josh Heupel and his Tennessee coaching staff are quite busy this month. The NCAA recruiting dead period has been lifted and prospects can visit campuses. In fact they can do so through June 27th. Here are some of the guys our Volquest partners say will be visiting or attending camp this month:
Cameron Miller: 4-Star WR (Memphis)
Isaiah Horton: 4-Star WR (Murfreesboro)
Kaydin Pope: 3-Star WR (Savannah, TN)
Addison Nichols: 4-Star OT (Norcross, GA)
Ryan Brubaker: 4-Star OT (Denver, PA)
Jordan McDonald: 3-Star RB (Alpharetta, GA)
Khamauri Rogers: 4-Star CB (Lexington, MS)
Caleb Herring: OLB (Murfreesboro)
Elijah Herring: 3-Star OLB (Murfreesboro)
Tayven Jackson: 4-Star QB (Greenwood, IN)
Also making the short trip to the UT Campus this week is speedy receiver Shannon Blair from Knoxville West High School.
Getting the right guys and developing them the right way is key says Volquest.com Editor, Brent Hubbs, ”Central Florida in this last draft, they had three defensive backs taken, three at Central Florida, who by the way is coached by Tennessee secondary coach Willie Martinez. I promise you Central Florida didn’t beat out any SEC teams for those three guys. That’s called development. Your evaluations have to be really good all the time, but when you’re trying to build and get going, they have to be fantastic.”
To spice things up this week coach Heupel is hosting a Friday night at Neyland event, something that can certainly leave an impression on a young man as a big week and month for Tennessee football recruiting is underway.
