Lynyrd Skynyrd announces concert at Thompson-Boling Arena in November
It’s been 15 months since their last show together and now the band is ready to reunite to hit the road on their Big Wheels Keep On Turnin’ Tour.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -Southern Rock legend Lynyrd Skynyrd announced they’ll make a stop in Knoxville on November 5 at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The band was in the middle of their Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour when the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to end the tour early and reschedule many concert dates.
It’s been 15 months since their last show together and now the band is ready to reunite to hit the road on their Big Wheels Keep On Turnin’ Tour. The 30 date tour kicks off June 13 and ends on November 19.
“We were two shows into the end of the three-year plan for the farewell tour when the virus hit and everything was just gone,” said lead singer Johnny Van Zant. “Once something is taken away from you - music and touring in our case - you truly realize how important it is and such a part of your life. Music is a great healer, and that’s what we all turn to when things are good or bad. A Skynyrd show is a family affair, and we want these dates to help heal our fans as much as ourselves.”
Tickets to the Knoxville show go on sale Friday, June 11 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online.
