Hochevar cheering on a " Special Group”
UT legend calls 2021 Vols a team of destiny
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -There has been a buzz about Big Orange Country in the last several weeks, and it has to do with Tennessee baseball.
The volunteers are off to the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament, it’s got everybody excited, and that includes former players like pitching great Luke Hochevar who says about this team, “It’s so fun to watch. It’s so refreshing to see that, especially at Tennessee to see a club of this caliber that plays so well together and just special special bunch of guys.”
Like the rest of the UT faithful, Luke had a lot of fun Sunday at Lindsey Nelson watching Tennessee clinch the Knoxville regional. Speaking of which, being at home is key. The volunteers are now 17-5 in Regional games played in Knoxville. The Super Regional against LSU gets going Saturday night at 7PM on ESPN two. You must win two out of three games to advance in the College World Series. something Hochvar did as a Vol back in 2005.
But this MLB World Series champion with the Royals says this group doesn’t need any advice from him, They just need to go out and be them, which that’s what they’ve done all season so really to a team like this, that, that is so special in that place as a team so well. They really don’t need any advice all they need to go out is to just go out and be themselves.”
Whatever tickets remain will go on sale Wednesday morning, not online, but at the Ticket Office at 865-656-1200. Frst crack at the tickets goes to the donors and season ticket holders. LSU will get 600 and most likely won’t have many, if any returned at all.
