NC woman accused of beating son with phone for not taking clothes out of dryer

The Department of Child Services is investigating both incidents.

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WVLT) - A North Carolina woman is behind bars after she allegedly assaulted one of her sons with a cellphone and another with a belt.

According to officials with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, Angel Laylor, 29, was reportedly angry at her 13-year-old son for not taking clothes out of the dryer.

Investigators said Laylor allegedly hit the child multiple times with a cellphone, including on the head.

Officials said in a second incident Laylor allegedly assaulted her 10-year-old son for spilling cereal. According to reports, the child locked himself in a bathroom before Laylor unlocked the door and struck the child multiple times with a belt.

The Department of Child Services is investigating both incidents.
