Sara Wilder is a Multimedia Journalist at WVLT News.
Sara joins the WVLT team from North Platte, Nebraska where she spent several years working at KNOP News 2. She worked as a reporter, before transitioning into the week day evening anchor and producer. While living in the Cornhusker state, Sara covered stories about the importance of agriculture to blizzards hitting the Midwest.
Sara grew up in Columbia, South Carolina and is a University of South Carolina graduate. She earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism, and minored in Criminal Justice. With a passion for travel, Sara spent a semester studying in Dublin, Ireland at Griffith College. During the summer of 2014, Sara traveled to South Africa where she spent time creating a short wildlife documentary on the Schotia Safaris Private Game Reserve.
Before graduation, Sara furthered her journalism experience by accepting an internship position with Fox News in New York City. She helped book guests for multiple shows during breaking news situations, and helped book satellites for remote live shots.
In her spare time, Sara enjoys spending time outdoors, and she is thrilled to be living close to the Smoky Mountains.
