Abby Kousouris is a Multimedia Journalist for WVLT News.
She arrived in East Tennessee and instantly felt right at home with her brother just down the road attending the University of Tennessee. She loves spending time with family and having him so close makes Knoxville a perfect fit.
Before arriving in the Volunteer state, Abby spent two years reporting for WMAZ in Central Georgia. There she covered damage caused by Hurricane Michael, how officer shortages impacted city safety,, and county government meetings.
Prior to her work in Central Georgia, Abby studied at The University of Georgia graduating with a dual degree in Journalism and Political Science. While completing her degree, Abby worked as a U-10 soccer coach at the Athens YMCA. She also had several internships including writing for The Tab, producing videos for a national political production company, and running social media for a successful congressional campaign.
Abby was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She got her start in television working for educational news outlet, Baltimore County Public Schools Television.
She hates being so far away from her parents and grandparents but loves spending time with her brother who attends the University of Tennessee.
In her free time, Abby enjoys baking cupcakes, exploring the mountain trails, and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers.
